My PCOS Story
Ok, here's my story, in brief. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 5 years. Before November 2005, we'd seen 2 ob/gyns, and 2 infertility specialists, and had every possible test between us. I'd heard of PCOS and asked each doctor if there was any chance that was my problem. All 4 said no chance.
After an office visit in November 2005, my nurse practioner called me to say she'd been looking over my records and noticed a few things: I have high cholesterol, trouble loosing weight, acne, 2 miscarriages and infertility. She wondered if I had Metabolic Syndrome or PCOS. She'd discussed it with the doctors in her office and had even called a Reproductive Endocrinologist. He said he'd like to see me.
After 5 minutes with the RE, I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I have been taking Metform. I've lost 15 pounds since January 1, 2006 and my acne has cleared up considerably.

Hi. This is Natalie (Rexie) from the forums. I saw the Blog on your signature and thought I'd check it out.
I noticed that several doctors insisted that you didn't have PCOS. My doctor says the same. He said that it's an anovulatory disease and that it's not a problem for me because I ovulate with the help of Clomid. In your experience, is this accurate?
